the Visible Banking Asia-Pacific Tour 2011

I launched the Visible Banking blog back in February 2007 to share my passion on social media and digital engagement in the financial services industry.

Since March 2009, my team tracks how the industry leverages social media channels such as twitter (now tracking over 1,550 account in 72 countries) or facebook (now tracking over 1,000 pages and apps in 72 countries).

Our goal is to empower financial institutions all over the world by providing them some unique insights and sharing the best practices worldwide and our passion.  Our goal is to help you achieve social media success and transform you into a more transparent and engaging financial partner.

Our actionable insights and recommendations enable our clients to take their existing social media initiatives to the next level, catch up on their most advanced competitors, and differentiate themselves with market-leading initiatives.

Social Media & Financial Services in the APAC Region
Over the years, I covered many initiatives from banks based in the region such as Standard Chartered (Singapore), CIMB (Malaysia), Kasikornbank(Thailand), NAB (Australia) or ASB Bank (New Zealand).

We are now tracking over 100 facebook pages and apps and 115 twitter accounts in APAC.  I invite you to check our twitter APAC Top 10 and our facebook APAC Top 10.

We’ve also listed 9 Senior Executives in the region (full list of Senios Execs): Stephen Porges – CEO at Aussie Home Loans (Australia), Ray O’Brien – GM Distribution at Community CPS (Australia), Terry Roberts – former President & CEO at China Construction Bank (Hong Kong), Jacki Johnson – CEO at Insurance Australia Group (New Zealand), Sam Plowman – Executive GM Direct Banking at NAB (Australia), Christopher Smith – GM Digital at NAB (Australia), Greg McAweeney – Executive Manager at Rabodirect (Australia), Alex Twigg – GM at UBank (Australia), Gerd Schenkel – former GM at UBank (Australia).

In the last 18 months, APAC financial institutions have started to be more engaging on twitter and (especially) on facebook.  Most of the initiatives are focused on social marketing and the content strategies have to improve to enable long-term engagement and create more trusted relationships with your prospects, your customers and your employees.  Towards moreVoice of the Customer (VOC) programmes and crowdsourcing initiatives…
