The Financial Brand and Social Media Examiner have recently released their global rankings for Q1 2015 on social media banking, twitter, Facebook, YouTube.
The popular series of rankings are based on a database that includes hundreds of banks and credit unions in English speaking countries. The Financial Brand monitors around 2,000 banks and credit unions on Facebook and about 2,500 banks and credit unions on Twitter.
The Power 100 rankings was first launched in 2013 and publishes the stats for social media of retail institutions in English-speaking countries for three major social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Banks are embracing social media banking to reach out to their customers and improving their service as and where most convenient. Offering twitter banking and Facebook banking services also allow the banks to launch new products and services and drive customer advocacy.

I started tracking financial institutions on twitter back in March 2009 as part of our ‘Visible Banking Twitter Watch‘ series.
I invite you to check the twitter infographic I put together myself years ago and check the essential concept of ‘Know Your Followers‘.
Unfortunately, my work commitments and the associated workload made me stop publishing those popular updates.
Congratulations to my ‘the Financial Brand’ friends Jim Marous and Jeffry Pilcher who successfully generate an outstanding level of buzz globally every time they release their updated Top 100 social media banking rankings focusing on twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
