BBVA Launches Innovation Edge First iPad Magazine Banking Gamification

BBVA launches Innovation Edge, the first corporate magazine that is originally designed for the iPad and focuses on various innovations in the financial sector.

Innovation Edge is spearheaded by the BBVA team and its international innovation partners and experts in different fields. The most recent edition of the magazine looks into the gamification phenomenon and its various implications in the financial industry and spotlights videos, infographics and interactive elements.

Gamification is defined as the process of using game theory and mechanics to attract users.

The current edition of the publication discusses and presents different case studies of gamification, including the “BBVA Game” experience. This is an innovative online service approach started by the bank that combines financial education coupled with game dynamics.

For the last couple of years, BBVA has been pushing the envelope for digital innovation in banking.  Both externally -for customers- and internally -for employees- with initiatives like ‘BBVA Suma‘ (crowdfunding) or ‘Elevate‘ (social business).

In the last three months, they launched a number of high profile initiatives such as their ‘BBVA Game‘ (gamification) or ‘Buzzstock.es‘ (market sentiment analysing).

A bit like companies such as Dell, American Express or Chase, the Spanish banking giant aims to share its learning with the industry and his customers.
